Graduated in Biological Sciences (Licenciatura and Bachelor) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1993-1997) and PhD in Sciences, Area of ​​Concentration: Physiology, Federal University of São Carlos (2000-2004). He has a doctoral degree (2002) at the Department of Microbiology, University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, VA, USA and postdoctoral fellowship (2005-2006) at the Institute de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM, Unit 553) in Paris , France. She was awarded a Visiting Fellowship (2015) by the University of Nottingham, England. He is currently Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos. Coordinates LABEN - Laboratory of Aging Biology - located in the Department of Gerontology of UFSCar. Leads the research group Biology of Aging registered in the directory of research groups of CNPq. He is a CNPq Productivity Grant 2. She teaches in the postgraduate program in Gerontology (PPGGERO / UFSCar), and in the Masters and PhD courses of the Interinstitutional Program of Post-Graduation in Physiological Sciences (UFSCar / UNESP). She is a reviewer of several journals in the area of ​​Aging, Alzheimer's and Cancer and scientific advisor to Brazilian development agencies (CNPq and FAPESP) and foreign (FONDECYT-Chile, Czech Science Foundation-Czech Republic and United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation). It has projects in collaboration with several international institutions such as the University of Nottingham - UK, Università degli Studi di Milano - Italy, Universitat de València and Universitat de Barcelona - Spain, Université du Québec à Montréal - Canada, Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute - University of California at Berkeley, Virginia Commonwealth University and Purdue University - USA. Currently coordinates the REPRINTE (Network of Interdisciplinary Programs on Aging) and is a member of the CIBFar (Centers for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Drugs) of the CEPID/FAPESP (Center for Research, Innovation and Diffusion). She has experience in the field of Cell Biology and Biochemistry, with emphasis in Molecular Biology, working mainly in the following subjects: aging, elderly, biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease, cognitive fragility, ADAMs, cancer and mammalian cell culture. She was away from academic activities due to maternity leave from 06/2009 to 12/2009.
