Undergrad Biology student of the Universidade de São Paulo from 1976-1979, he has an MSc (1982) and PhD in Zoology (1987) from Universidade de São Paulo. He is a Senior Professor of the Universidade de São Paulo since 2013, formally retired in June 26, 2023.
