Marko Monteiro has a bachelor degree in Social Sciences (1997), a Master's in Social Anthropology (2000) and a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (2005), all from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). She also held a postdoctoral internship at the University of Texas at Austin, with the Science, Technology and Society program (2006 to 2008), and at the Department of Science and Technology Policy at UNICAMP (2009 to 2010). He is currently an associate professor (MS5.2) at the Department of Science and Technology Policy at UNICAMP. He has been the leader of the Group for Interdisciplinary Studies in Science and Technology (GEICT) since 2011; and co-leader of the study group CIRIS - Governance, Risk and Communication, together with Profa. Gabriela Di GIulio (FSP/USP). He also participates in the Sub-Network of Scientific Dissemination of Rede Clima; he has already participated in the C&T and Education Commission of the ABA - Brazilian Association of Anthropology and is a member of ESOCITE.BR - Brazilian Association of Social Studies of Sciences and Technologies. He is currently an elected board member of the 4S-Society for the Social Studies of Science (2023-2026). His current research covers the following topics: anthropology of S&T; ethnographies of scientific practices; sociotechnical controversies; governance of science and technology.
