Maria Laura da Costa Louzada

Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Saúde Pública (FSP)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I am a professor at the Department of Nutrition at the Faculty of Public Health at the University of São Paulo (USP) and a researcher at the Center for Epidemiological Research in Nutrition and Health at USP (NUPENS/USP). Since 2023, I have held the position of vice-coordinator of NUPENS/USP. I am advisor of the Graduate Program in Nutrition in Public Health at USP and associate editor of Revista de Saúde Pública. Member of the Epidemiology Commission of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health (ABRASCO) and of the Department of Environment, Sustainability and Food Culture of the Brazilian Association for the Study of Obesity (ABESO). In 2017, I was on maternity leave and, therefore, more distant from academic activities. I am very interested in studying the effects of ultra-processing of food on the living conditions and health of populations and I advocate a critical epidemiology, deeply committed to social responsibility.
