Has a PhD in Sciences ( Biology of Host-Pathogen Interactions ) by the University of São Paulo (2000 ) , Master of Science in Parasitology from the University of São Paulo (1990 ) , Specialization in Medical Entomology by University of São Paulo (1979 ) , Science Undergraduate Biology from the University of Guarulhos (1977 ) , and various trainings zimotaxonomia ( Instituto Evandro Chagas / the Wellcome Parasitology Unit- 1981 and Lab - zimotaxonomia Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1991) and molecular diagnosis of trypanosomes ( Department Parasitologia-ICB/USP - 2000) . He is currently Senior Research Scientist and Technical Director of the Centre for Parasitology and Mycology, Instituto Adolfo Lutz , Teacher / Advisor (Masters / PhD) Graduate Program in Science Coordination for Disease Control of the Department of Health of the State of São Paulo. Member of the State Committee for the monitoring and control of visceral leishmaniasis. Provides scientific advice on Leishmaniasis to the Ministry of Health; Rapporteur ad hoc Institutions to Promote Research and Journals . Has experience in the area of parasitology with emphasis on Parasitic Human Protozoology , acting on the following topics : Epidemiology and Laboratory Diagnosis ; Cutaneous Leishmaniasis , State of São Paulo , Visceral Leishmaniasis , State of Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo;Trypanosoma cruzi and Chagas' disease. He is currently the Coordinator of the State Network Laboratory for the Diagnosis of Leishmaniasis , Instituto Adolfo Lutz . Among his research areas include issues related to forensic entomology.
