Graduated in Biological Sciences by UNESP/São José do Rio Preto, SP, Brasil (1977), Master's from USP/São Paulo, SP (1984) and PhD from UNESP/São José do Rio Preto in Biological Sciences (Genetics) (1994), Post-Doctorate by Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (FAMERP) (1998) and Habilitation in Molecular Biology by FAMERP (2008). Adjunct Professor of the Department of Molecular Biology at FAMERP since 1997, accredited by the Graduate Program in Health Sciences at FAMERP, as a professor and advisor. Coordinator of the research group Molecular, Genetic and Biochemical Markers in Aging and Chronic-Degenerative Diseases at CNPq. She was graduate coordinator, head of department and discipline, and served as Director of Research at FAMERP (2009-2013). Has experience in the areas of Genetics and Molecular Biology, with emphasis on degenerative diseases (hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, biliopancreatic neoplasms and cardiovascular diseases) involving genetic factors (polymorphisms and gene expression) and biochemical factors (lipids, proteins and oxidative stress markers).
