Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) that she joined in 1995. From 1998 to 2000 she has been working as visiting scholar at the Materials Research Lab (MRL) at Penn-State University on the processing and characterization of lead-free ferroelectric single crystal fibers grown by laser melting technique. She is co-founder and one of the current leaders of the Ferroic Materials Group of the Physics Department at the UFSCar, a pioneer R&D group in ferroelectric materials. Member of the Brazilian Physics Society, Brazilian Ceramic Society and American Ceramic Society. Brazilian representative of the International Network on Advanced Multifunctional Materials (INAMM), partially funded by US-NSF, and an editorial member of Integrated Ferroelectrics. She has a long-standing expertise in the area of Applied Physics, Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science, with emphasis on ceramic materials. Her research ranges from the advanced and innovative processing of ferroic materials to the assessment of their structural, microstructural, dielectric, ferroelectric, optical, and electro-optical properties.
