Péricles Alves Nogueira

Graduated in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu, of the ?Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho? (1971), master's degree in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1978) and PhD degree in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1984), ?livre docente" in Public Health from the University of São Paulo(2001) . Currently he is Associate Professor III, of the Department of Epidemiology, Faculty of Public Health, University of São Paulo and is retired . Provides consultancy services to the Division of Tuberculosis of the Center for Epidemiological Surveillance of the Secretary of Health of the state of São Paulo. Has experience in Public Health field in Surveillance of Communicable Diseases and with emphasis on tuberculosis control. Working mainly on the following topics: monitoring and control of tuberculosis, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, tuberculosis in the prison system, in the population of street people and the population of sex workers.
