Marcelo Zaiat is Chemical Engineer and Master in Chemical Engineering (Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar, 1990 and 1992), Doctor in Hydraulics and Sanitary Engineering (University of São Paulo - USP, 1996), with Free-Docency in Biological Wastewater Treatment (USP, 2004). He is full professor at the São Carlos School of Engineering - USP since 1998 in the area of Environmental Engineering and Researcher 1A of the National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq). He is specialized in Anaerobic Treatment Technology and published nearly 300 papers in double-refereed journals with h index of 44 (Web of Science, ISI). His research interest comprises biohydrogen production from wastewater, bioreactor design and wastewater treatment with anaerobic reactors as the core technology. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
