Introduction: In an attempt to minimize the heterogeneity of the study on genetic polymorphism in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Chinese authors conducted the first study of the human genome in these women and demonstrated greater frequency of genetic polymorphism associated with LHCGR genes, THADA, DENND1A, FSHr , YAP1, RAB5B / SUOX and SUMO1P1. Despite the ethnic and geographic heter…
The polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrinopathy in women of reproductive age and it is often associated with some cardiovascular risk factors. Although there are no prospective studies which evaluated the mortality from cardiovascular disease in patients with the syndrome, some studies show changes in the endothelial function and elevation of inflammatory and bioche…
Endometriosis is a benign disease that affects 10 to 15% of the female population. Different mechanisms are involved in the ectopic implantation and maintenance of the endometrial tissue, which are: dysfunctions on the immunity system, adhesion mechanisms, invasion and cellular proliferation and differentiation, altered apoptosis rate and angiogenesis. Interferences in the expression of g…

Introduction: The pathogenic mechanisms responsible for the reduction of fertility in women with endometriosis remain poorly understood, being questioned a possible deleterious effect of this disease on ovarian steroidogenesis, folliculogenesis and oocyte quality. As human oocytes are extremely rare and their use in invasive studies, that generally impossible their use in assisted reprodu…
The polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrinopathy in women of reproductive age and it is often associated with some cardiovascular risk factors such as obesity and resistance to insulin. As a result, it is believed that women with this syndrome can develop cardiovascular disease (CVD) earlier. Although there are no prospective studies which evaluated the mortality fro…

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent gynecologic disease that affects 10-15% women of reproductive age. The etiology of endometriosis remains to be understood, but there is increasing evidence that the immune system plays an important role in its development. It has been suggested that natural killers (NK) cells, an important component of the innate immune system, are decreased in the p…
