Agronomist graduated from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Unesp) - Faculty of Engineering of Ilha Solteira in 2004 (Ilha Solteira city, São Paulo state, Brazil) and M.Sc in Agronomy, specialty in Crop Production Systems, by the same Institution, in 2006. In 2009 obtained the title of Ph.D in Science (Plant Science) by University of São Paulo (USP) - Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (Esalq) (Piracicaba city, São Paulo state, Brazil), acting as Visiting Researcher at Ohio State University (Columbus city, Ohio state, USA) from September to December of 2008. He is currently a researcher at USP / Esalq in ​​Seed Technology, working mainly in the application of Image Analysis to evaluate the internal morphology and the physiological potential of seeds. He is the manager of the Image Analysis Laboratory of the Department of Crop Science at Esalq and has acted as advisor of undergraduate and graduate students of Esalq, in the co-advisor of students of other educational institutions, and in the training of teachers and researchers of institutions in Brazil and abroad in the use of image analysis techniques to evaluate the seed physical quality and seed vigor. Also, he is envolved to coordinate research projects and teaching activities in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of Esalq. He is one of the developers of the System Automated Analysis of the Seed Vigor (Vigor-S) that has been adopted by several companies producing soybean seeds in Brazil. Annually teaches the course Image Analysis of Seeds and Seedlings of the post-graduation program in Plant Science at USP / Esalq. He has 57 published papers in national and international journals and 91 published papers in annals of scientific events (including full papers, expanded abstracts and abstracts). Currently coordinates the research project Development of image analysis techniques for evaluation of vigor and internal seed morphology, funded by Fapesp (Regular Research Aid) and the research project Thermographic analysis in association with Magnetic Resonance Imaging and its relation with the physiological potential of soybean seeds, financed by CNPq (Universal Call). He has been a guest lecturer in the ministry of lectures in Brazil and abroad in matters related to the use of non-destructive techniques for the analysis of seeds by images. He was associate editor of the scientific journal "Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical (2001 to 2014) and is currently associate editor of the scientific journal "Journal of Seed Science" (Qualis B1 in the area of ​​Agricultural Sciences by CAPES), scientific advisor of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP), ad hoc advisor of 16 scientific journals (national and international), member elected of the board of the Brazilian Association of Seed Technology (ABRATES) and vice-chair elected of the Advanced Technologies Committee of the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) , based in Zurich (Switzerland).
