Profesor of higher education since 1990 and been teaching at the Institute of the Architecture and Urbanism at Univesity of São Paulo (IAU-USP) since 2005. As a coordinator of the Center for the Study of Contemporary Spatiality (NEC-USP), his teaching and research activities have been focused on the formation of professionals and master?s and PhD students, as well as the training of researchers. He also coordinated Working Groups on Political Economy of Communication and Culture in entities and national and international events. He is an associate editor of the Latin American Journal of Communication Sciences (Revista ALAIC). Lastly, he acted as a director and president of scientific and academic entities such as the Latin American Union of Political Economy of Information, Communication and Culture (ULEPICC-Brazil) and the Brazilian Federation of Academic and Scientific Associations in Communication (SOCICOM).
