Graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Pernambuco (1999), PhD at the University of São Paulo (2008). He is currently Associate Professor of Urology in the Surgery Department and vice-coordinator of the Urology Postgraduate Program (CAPES 5) at the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP) and head of the Prostate Sector at the Urology Division of Hospital das Clinicas FMUSP. Has experience in Urology, with emphasis on Urological Oncology and Prostatic Hyperplasia, acting mainly on the following themes: Prostate Cancer, Prognosis factors and pathophysiology of male voiding dysfunctions. He is an ad hoc advisor to the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP), an ad hoc reviewer to the European Urology and Journal of Urology periodics, and he is part of the editorial committee of Clinics periodic.
