graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1984), Master in Agronomy (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from ESALQ - University of São Paulo (1988) and PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology - Rijksuniversiteit Gent - Belgium (1993 ). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship (1994) at Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey (USA) and obtained the title of Professor at USP in 2010. She is currently Associate Professor MS5-3 at the University of São Paulo, president of the Commission Research FFCLRP - USP (2020-2022) and vice-president of the Board of the Brazilian Society of Genetics - SBG (2020-2022). She has experience in the field of Genetics, with emphasis on Molecular Plant Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: 1) flowering and plant reproduction, with emphasis on pistil development and pollen-pistil interaction; 2) gene constructions, plant transformation and analysis of transgenic plants; 3) analysis of gene expression and protein-protein interactions; and 4) heterologous expression of proteins of biotechnological interest.
