Edmo Campos é Professor Emérito do Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo; membro da Academia Brasileira de Ciências; membro da Academia de Ciências do Estado de São Paulo; e membro da Sociedade Honorífica de Pesquisa Sigma XI. Em maio de 1990 recebeu o título de PhD em Meteorologia e Oceanografia Física pela Rosenstiel School, na Universidade de Miami, EUA. Obteve os graus de Bacharel (1978) e Mestre (1981) em Física pela Uiversidade de Brasilia. Trabalhou no Instituto Oceanográfico da USP (IOUSP) em 1990, onde aposentou-se como Professor Titular em fevereiro de 2016. Presentemente mantém a posição de Professor Colaborador e Coordenador do Laboratório de Modelagem e Observação Oceânica (LABMON), no IOUSP. Entre set/2018 e ago/2021, esteve como Cientista Visitante na Universidade de Sharjah, nos Emirados Árabes Unidos. No Início dos anos 2010 foi um dos coautores do 5o Relatório de Avaliação do IPCC. É membro do Comitê Cientifico do programa Internacional GO-SHIP; membro do Comitê Executivo da Associação Internacional para as Ciências Físicas do Oceano (IAPSO); e do Comitê Executuvo do programa Internacional SAMOC. Desde o início dos anos 90 é, de forma ininterrupta, pesquisador do CNPq, no nível 1 desde 2010. Ao longo de sua carreira, tem sido o investigador principal de dezenas de projetos científicos internacionais; publicou mais de uma centena de artigos científicos e orientou mais de quatro dezenas de estudantes de pós-graduação e estagiários de pós-doutorado. De Jan/2019 a Jul/2023 publicou 22 artigos os quais receberam 295 citações no Web of Science. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
