Graduate in Civil Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Londrina (1983), Master in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1986), Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1995) and Post-doctorate at the School of Engineering San Carlos, EESC-USP (2001). He is currently Full Professor of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Campus Ilha Solteira-SP. He was department head and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Civil Engineering, teaching courses in the area of ​​reinforced concrete and masonry.
