Graduated in Medicine at the State University of Campinas - Unicamp (1983); Residency in Otolaryngology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences - Unicamp (1986); Fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston, United States of America, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Hospital Institute (1987); Master's degree in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Escola Paulista de Medicina - UNIFESP (1990) and PhD in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Escola Paulista de Medicina - UNIFESP (1995). Professor in Otolaryngology, Faculty of Medical Sciences - UNICAMP (2008). He is currently Associate Professor (MS 5-3) and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, School of Medical Sciences - Unicamp. He was Director of the Teaching Commission, Residency and Training by the Brazilian Association of Otolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Surgery (ABORL-CCF) (2004-2010). President of the Brazilian Association of Otolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Surgery (ABORL-CCF) (2013). President of the Brazilian Center Association of Otorhinolaryngology (2012/2013). President of the Brazilian Academy of Laryngology and Voice (2000-2001). He is currently President of the Ibero-American Academy of Otolaryngology (2016-2017). Ad-hoc consultant for the São Paulo Research Support Foundation (FAPESP). Member of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Otorhinolaringological Societies (IFOS). Member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head Neck Surgery (AAOHNS), the European Laryngological Society (ELS), the Latin American Academy of Laryngology y phonosurgery (ALALF). He gave more than 300 lectures as a guest on scientific events in Brazil and abroad. He has experience in the area of Medicine, with emphasis on General Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, acting on the following topics: larynx, vocal cords, voice, dysphonia, laryngeal cancer, sleep apnea, snoring, cancer, endoscopic surgery, rhinosinusal.
