Kátia Cardoso holds a degree in Physics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1988), a Master's in Materials Engineering from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1992), and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1999). She conducted postdoctoral research at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalurgicas (CENIM) in Madrid, Spain, and at the University of Grenoble-Alpes in France. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). Experience in the field of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, primarily working with out-of-equilibrium processing techniques such as high-energy milling and severe plastic deformation, as well as the development of high-entropy alloys for hydrogen storage applications and coatings.
