Geologist graduated from the University of São Paulo in 1996. Master's degree in Geosciences in the area of Paleontology (Sedimentary Geology) from the University of São Paulo in 1999. Ph.D. in Geosciences in the area of Geochemistry and Geotectonics from the University of São Paulo in 2005. Scientific Researcher VI at the Institute of Environmental Research (IPA, formerly Geological Institute) of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Environment of the State of São Paulo. Director of the Laboratory and Experimental Areas Unit of the Technical-Scientific Support Center of the Technical-Scientific Department of IPA - SP. Chairman of the Ethics and Biosafety Committee of the Institute of Environmental Research. Collaborating professor in the Postgraduate Program in Geochemistry and Geotectonics at the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo. Serves as an ad hoc reviewer and member of advisory and editorial boards of national and international journals in the field of Geosciences, former co-editor-in-chief of the Speleo-tema Journal of the Brazilian Society of Speleology. Was a member of the Brazilian Commission for Geological and Paleobiological Sites - SIGEP (2008-2012). From 2012 to 2018, was a research fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). His main research areas include Geology and Geomorphology of Karst Terrains, Geo-speleology, Microbialites, Continental Carbonate Rocks, Paleoclimate, Environmental Diagnosis of the Physical Environment, Scientific Outreach, and Geological Heritage.
