Prof. Dr. Dulce Elena Casarini, CNPq Researcher 1B, holds a degree in Biology from the University of the Sacred Heart (1973). Defended Master (1982) and PhD (1988) in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology) and Free Teaching in Nephrology (2003) at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Received the title of ?Fellow American Heart Association (FAHA)?. She is currently Associate Professor and Professor of the Nephrology and Biologist Discipline of UNIFESP. He teaches nephrology classes for the 4th medical year of Escola Paulista de Medicina, EPM. She is Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Translational Medicine of the Department of Medicine, EPM, UNIFESP. Has research in Medicine, focusing on Clinical and Basic Nephrology/Cardiology in renal and cardiovascular diseases, acting on the following subjects: renin angiotensin, kallikrein kinins and catecholamines systems in hypertension, diabetes, obesity and transplantation; and in enzymology, proteomics and metabolomics. She is a biologist graduated in 1973 at the Sacred Heart University, Brazil. In 1982, he obtained a master's degree and, in 1988, a doctorate, both in Molecular Biology, EPM, UNIFESP, Brazil. In 1979 she joined UNIFESP as a scientific researcher and founded the Kidney and Hormones Research Laboratory, Department of Medicine, Nephrology Discipline, EPM. In Paris, he did two postdoctoral degrees: one at the Laboratoire de Physiologie Nerveuse, Gif sur Yvette (1989-1990), and the second at the Laboratory of Physiology and Vascular and Renal Pathology, Unité 367, INSERM (1993-1994). Discovered an important biological marker for hypertension, the angiotensin I-converting enzyme n-domain isoform (nECA), patented it in Brazil in 2002, (nECA / genetic marker of hypertension. Quantification method), and in 2008 obtained patent worldwide. Demonstrated dedication and commitment to excellence in the training of 26 doctors, 27 masters, 20 postdocs and 22 scientific initiations. During his career he published over 164 manuscripts in clinical and basic research, several book chapters, and edited two abroad. She is invited as a speaker or session chairman at national and international meetings and medical schools annually. Received many awards being the last in May 2019 from the American Society of Physiology featuring work on Clinical Hypertension / biological marker of hypertension. He is a member of the Brazilian Societies of Biochemistry and Hypertension, and the Inter-American Society of Hypertension, International Society of Proteolysis, American Heart Society and American Society of Physiology. Dr. Casarini was treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Hypertension 2017-August 2019, and is a member of the scientific council until 2022. She is on the scientific committee of the Gordon Angiotensin Conference, Gordon Foundation, USA, and was elected for the 2018 term. -2022. She was nominated by the American Heart Association's (AHA) HTN Council Nominating Committee (USA) to serve the AHA International Committee pending final nomination. It is on the editorial board of PlosOne and the Open Journal of Transplantation. She is a reviewer for journals in cardiovascular, nephrology, biochemistry and physiology. She is an advisor for the judgment of clinical and basic projects of different foundations in Brazil: Fapesp, Fapemig, Auraucária Foundation, Cearence Foundation, Federal District Research Support Foundation, Fapesb, Fapeam, among others in the country. She was an advisor for international bodies such as: Cytec/CNPq, a financial aid to scientific and technological cooperation among the member countries of South America, and others; Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation Funding for Scientific and Technological Research of Argentina.
