Graduated in Biological Sciences Medical Modality from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (2000), MSc degree (2003) and Ph.D. (2007) in Medical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo - USP - Ribeirão Preto - SP. She is currently coordinator of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Vale do Paraíba - UNIVAP - São José dos Campos - SP and leads the FOTOBIOS (Photobiology applied to Health) lab, a research group in which aim is to evaluate cellular, biochemical and molecular mechanisms and events in photobiomodulation and photodynamic therapy (PDT). She has experience in the area of Biophysics, with an emphasis on Radiology and Photobiology, working mainly in Photodynamic Therapy, Cancer, Microbiology, Parasitology, Photosensitizers and Spectroscopy.
