Graduated with a degree in Physics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2001), also obtained his Master's of Physics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2002) working at the National Synchrotron Facility (LNLS). Got his Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin (2006) . During 2007, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Materials Department at the Physics Insitute of Universidade de São Paulo. Since 2008, has been at Universidade Federal do ABC, first as a visiting professor and then as an Adjunct Professor. From July 2009 to February 2010 actied as Dean of Research at Universidade Federal do ABC. Was elected a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences in 2008, for the period 2009-2013. In 2014 was selected as a Simmons Associate of the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP-Trieste), a position to be held until 2020. In 2019 he was elected an Associate member of the Academy of Sciences of the Estate of São Paulo (ACIESP) and also in the same year, an associate member of The World Academy of Science (TWAS). Has experience in Physics, focusing on Electronic Structure Calculations and Smiluations of electronic transport properties of nanoscopic devices. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
