Degree in Materials Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (1976), Master's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1980) and PhD in Foundry Technology (Giessereikunde) from Rheinisch-Westfalische Technische Hochschule/Aachen/ West Germany (1990). He worked in Nuclear Technology from 1977 to 1993, at Nuclebrás and at the National Nuclear Energy Commission. Approved in the competition for UFSCar as an Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering, he resigned from CNEN and joined UFSCar in March/1995. In 2005 he was approved in the competition for Full Professor, having been appointed in March 2006. He was Technical Director of the Center for Characterization and Development of Materials-CCDM/DEMa/UFSCar, from March 1995 to December 2021, having participated in its assembly since the beginning in 1993. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, with an emphasis on Casting and Solidification, working mainly on the following topics: additive manufacturing, spray forming, aluminum alloys and steels for casting, evaluation and development of materials for implants orthopedics, development of wear and corrosion resistant coatings for the petroleum industry and failure analysis and prevention. Coordinated and coordinates research projects funded by FAPESP, FINEP, CNPq and CAPES and several companies. It had and has international cooperation with IST/UTL/Lisbon, Portugal (surface modification and coatings with LASER), UAB/Barcelona/Spain (Development of amorphous alloys and their mechanical properties), IWT/Bremen/Germany (spray forming of alloys iron base and aluminum base), Department of Materials/University of Oxford/UK (spray forming and recycling of aluminum alloys), HGZ/Geestacht, TUHH/Hamburg/Germany (friction stir welding), GI/RWTH Aachen /Germany (foundry technology), IFW/Dresden/Germany (Development of amorphous alloys and sintering of amorphous powders by LASER), VTECH/Blacksburg/USA (nanostructured materials obtained by high energy milling), University of LAVAL/Canada (Biomaterials ) and Joseph Fourier Université/Grenoble/Fr(corrosion of amorphous alloys). Member of CAMM/CNPq from August 2019 to June 2022. CNPQ PQ 1A researcher from March 2016 to February 2023, having the scholarship interrupted because he missed the renewal application deadline. He applied for renewal in 2023 for 2024, and the request was approved, but at the level of entry into the system: PQ2, as is normal in the CNPq system of Productivity grants, even with production at level PQ-1A (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
