Graduated in Animal Science from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1978), Master in Animal Science from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1981) and Ph.D. in Animal Science from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1989). Since 1982, teaches in the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Jaboticabal Campus, in the Forage and Pasture area. In 1998, held the contest to Associate Professor in Forage and Pastures, at the Department of Animal Science. In the period 1998 to 2000, developed the training post doctoral program in Agronomy Department, University of Florida. In October 2008 he applied, and in January 2009 was appointed Full Professor in the area of Forage and Pastures, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Jaboticabal Campus. Has experience in Animal Science with emphasis on production, evaluation of forage, mainly in the following subjects: Evaluation of winter forage species, forage conservation and supplementation of the diet of ruminants in pasture, evaluation of green gas emission.
