He graduated in Electrical Engineering from São Paulo State University (UNESP) in 1998, with a masters and a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2002, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Padova, Italy, where he worked on digital control techniques applied to active power filters. Since 2005, he has been a professor at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), based on the Sorocaba Campus, where he coordinated the undergraduate program in Control and Automation Engineering from 2010 to 2012. He has also actively participated in various academic boards and advisory committees at the campus and the universitys central administration.He is a researcher in the Group of Automation and Integrated Systems (GASI/UNESP/CNPq), having served as its leader from 2007 to 2011, vice-leader from 2014 to 2016, and research lab coordinator from 2017 to 2023. Additionally, he was a volunteer collaborating researcher at the University of Campinas from 2005 to 2008. In 2013, he was a visiting professor at the Colorado School of Mines, in Golden, Colorado, USA. In January 2020, he served as a visiting professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway.He has extensive teaching experience in theoretical courses such as Electric Circuits, Power Quality and Conditioning, Analysis of Non-Sinusoidal and/or Unbalanced Circuits, Signal Analysis and Control Techniques for Power Systems, Modeling and Digital Control of Power Electronic Converters, Smart Grids, Renewable Energy, Distributed Energy Generation, Development of Scientific Projects and Technological Innovation, and Advanced Topics in Engineering. He has also taught laboratory courses in Electric Circuits, Electrotechnics, Electromagnetic Devices, Energy Conversion, and Electric Machines for Automation.He has coordinated or participated in various research, extension, and technological development projects funded by research agencies or companies, with over 220 papers published in journals, newspapers, and conferences (national and international). He has supervised and co-supervised several doctoral theses, masters dissertations, undergraduate research projects, and postdoctoral research work.His main areas of interest include distributed microgeneration, integration of distributed energy resources, analysis and control techniques for smart grids, energy efficiency, and power theories for modern electrical circuits.He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Power Electronics (Sobraep), which he served on the Advisory and Fiscal Councils; the Brazilian Automation Society (SBA), which he was coordinator and vice-coordinator of the Power Electronics Technical Committee; and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Between 2015 and 2018, he was a member of three Technical Committees of the São Paulo State Energy Policy Council, which focused on reviewing and updating the São Paulo Energy Plan. From 2018 to 2021, he volunteered in the management group of the Renewable Energy Local Productive Arrangement (APL) in the Sorocaba Region (SP).
