Nelson H. Morgon received his B.Sc in Chemistry in 1986, his M.Sc in Physical Chemistry in 1989 and PhD in 1994 from the Campinas State University (UNICAMP). From 1994-96 he was a postdoctoral research, under supervision of Prof. J. M. Riveros, at the University of São Paulo (USP) working on the theoretical studies of ion-molecule reactions in the gas phase. In 1996 he joined the Institute of Chemistry at UNICAMP to establish a research program in Theoretical Chemistry. Morgon's research interests are: Quantum and Computational Chemistry with specific emphasis on ab initio and DFT Calculations, Analysis and Development of Basis Function Sets, Generator Coordinate Method (GCM), Theoretical Studies of Ion/Molecule Reactions in the Gas Phase and Catalytic Processes in Zeolites, Electronic Circular Dichroism (ECD), Quantum Tunneling, and Parallelism and Computing.
