Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo Bauru School of Dentistry (FOB-USP, 1999), with a Masters degree in Experimental Oral Medicine (MSc) and a Ph.D. from Kings College London University of London (2001 and 2008, respectively). Professor and researcher with a strong academic background and extensive clinical experience, with a focus on the diagnosis and prognosis of potentially malignant oral mucosal lesions. His research involves DNA ploidy, cellular atypia, and biomarkers, integrating these variables with machine learning models to predict clinical outcomes in oral medicine.He currently leads innovative initiatives that bridge data science, artificial intelligence, and higher education, aiming to transform how healthcare professionals learn, interact, and make clinical decisions. He coordinates educational projects based on gamification, interactive learning environments, and adaptive assessment, with the goal of leveling dental education nationwide. He also works in faculty development and institutional leadership, with an emphasis on innovation, educational technology, and implementation science in public health.In addition to translational research and teaching, he has a deep interest in nonviolent communication and human developmenttopics he incorporates as ethical foundations in his professional and academic work. He believes that comprehensive healthcare begins with an understanding of basic human needs and active listening, principles that guide both his clinical practice and pedagogical approach.
