Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's and Licentiate's degrees) from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. At the University of São Paulo, he obtained his Master's and Doctorate degrees in the area of #8203;#8203;Biology of the Host-Pathogen Relationship. He completed his first postdoctoral internship at the Centre de Recherche en Infectiologie of Université Laval, Quebec, Canada and the second in the Department of Parasitology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo. Currently, he is Professor at the Department of Animal Biology of the Institute of Biology of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biology also at UNICAMP. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Molecular Parasitology with emphasis on the study of the parasite of the genus Leishmania, involving aspects of the chemotherapy of leishmaniasis and the molecular mechanisms associated with resistance to the drugs used in the treatment of this parasitic disease.
