Vitor F.O. de Miranda has a degree in Biological Sciences (1999), master's and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Plant Biology) - Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho campus Rio Claro (2006) and Livre-Docência - Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho campus Jaboticabal (2018). He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho campus Jaboticabal (UNESP/FCAV), visiting professor at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, co-instructor of the Florida International University (COIL Program - USA), and curator of Herbarium Jaboti (JABU). He is coordinator of the Graduate Program (Master and PhD) on Agronomy - Genetics and Plant Breeding (UNESP/FCAV) and teaches courses for undergraduate courses (Biological Sciences and Agronomic Engineering) related to plant systematics and for graduate courses (Master and PhD) related to phylogenetic systematics and molecular evolution. He is the leader of the research group (CNPq) Systematics, genomics and evolution of carnivorous plants, member of the editorial board of the journals Frontiers in Plant Science (Switzerland), Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution (Switzerland), Italian Botanist (Italy) and PLANTS (Switzerland) and reviewer of national and international scientific journals. Advisor to national (Fapesp, Capes, CNPq) and international (Human Frontier Science Program - France, Ministero dell'Università and della Ricerca, Italy) agencies. He published >60 scientific articles in national and international journals, 11 book chapters and organized a book. Supervised and supervises undergrad and graduated students and researchers of scientific initiation, master's, doctorate and post-doc. He has experience in botany, with focus on plant systematics, working mainly on the following subjects: systematics and taxonomy, phylogenetic systematics, phylogeography, genetics and molecular evolution.
