He holds a degree in Geology from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1995), a master's degree in Stratigraphy and Sedimentation from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1998) and a PhD in Sedimentary Basin Analysis from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (2003). He has experience in #8203;#8203;Geosciences, with an emphasis on Regional Geology, working mainly on the following subjects: Sedimentology, Paleosols, Stratigraphy of Continental Sequences, Geological Mapping and Petroleum Geology. Between 2005 and 2007, he did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), where he developed research on depositional mechanisms and architectures of the Holocene alluvial fan systems with an arid climate in San Juan, in western Argentina, using a comparison model for the deposits of the Bauru Basin in Brazil. Since August 2010, he has been a full-time professor at the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP, where he teaches Hydrocarbon Geology, Sedimentology, and Geological Mapping. He works in the Institute of Geosciences and Petroleum Sciences and Engineering postgraduate program as a professor of Petroleum Geology. He develops research in sedimentology, paleopedology, and petroleum geology. Since September 2021, he has held the position of Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Geosciences at UNICAMP.
