Birthplace: Brazil

Degrees in Agronomy Engineering (1987) and a Master's Degree in Animal Science and Pastures (1993), both from the University of São Paulo (USP) and PhD in Animal Sciences (1997) from the University of Arizona, USA. He has been working in the Animal Science Department of ESALQ since 1989 in the areas of Feed Conservation and Ruminant Nutrition, occupying the position of Full Professor. Acts as a research group leader at CNPq and advise to FAPESP, CNPq and CAPES. Most of his experience is in Animal and Feed Science, with emphasis on Forage Management and Conservation, as advisor, in the training of 60Masters, Doctors and 9 post-docs. He was a member of the Board and President of the Brazilian Society of Animal Sciences between 2011 and 2014. He has been responsible for the organization of the International Symposium on Forage Quality and Conservation since 2009 and was the Chairman of the International Silage Conference in 2015, in Brazil. He was the Dean of the of the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture from 2015 to 2019. From 2018 until 2021, is the CFO and CHRO from the University of São Paulo, assuming administrative positions and participation in committees linked to the High Administration. From 2022 to 2024, Coordination on the Joint College of China Agricultural University (CAU) and USP for double diploma graduate level and Visiting Professor at the College of Grassland Science and Technology (CGST) in Beijing, China.
