Have Degrees in Medicine, University of Pernambuco (1971), Doctor of Medicine (Nephrology), Federal University of São Paulo (1978), Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the USP (1983). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Clinical Pathology, Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, USP, Division Director of the Central Laboratory of the Hospital of the FMUSP. Has experience in the area of immunology, with emphasis on Cellular Immunology, working mainly in the following lines of research: Experimental immunomodulation, Immunopathology of HIV Infection, Immunopathology of Secondary Immunodeficiencies, Infectious Immunology and Metabolic Diseases or Infections Primary.
