Newton Andréo Filho is an Associate Professor II at the Federal University of São Paulo - Unifesp - Diadema campus, working in the Pharmaceutical Technology I and II Curricular Units. He is also a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Unifesp/Diadema campus. He was the academic vice-director of the Institute of Environmental, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Unifesp, coordinator of the Pharmacy course and President of the Undergraduate Chamber. As a researcher, his work has focused on the development of multiparticulate solid pharmaceutical forms, such as mini-tablets and pellets, and lipid nanostructured systems (nanoparticles, nanoemulsions and liposomes) for the delivery of bioactive pharmaceutical and cosmetic agents. He completed his doctorate in 2006 at the University of São Paulo (USP), in the Drug and Medication Program, developing solid pharmaceutical forms for didanosine; and a master's degree in 1999 from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) - Pharmaceutical Sciences Program, where he worked with liposomes and nanoparticles for the controlled release of drugs. In 2023, he completed a research internship at the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE), linked to the School of Pharmacy, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, where he worked with thermoresponsive gels for topical application. He is currently developing research projects in collaboration with companies in the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics sector through partnerships established by the Center for Innovation in Materials - Embrapii UNIFESP.
