Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of São Paulo Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (1970), holds a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (1973) and a PhD in Thermal Power - Cranfield Institute of Technology (Cranfield University) (1987), as well as several improvement courses at ITA and abroad. He retired as Associate Professor of the Technological Institute of Aeronautics. He dedicated his professional life to the training of human resources for the development of gas turbine design technology, topics related to them and research for the development of national gas turbine technology He has been committed to the development of actions aimed at convincing, by demonstrating results already obtained by national Educational and Research Institutions, that the country has the capacity to design, manufacture, test and develop gas turbines, lacking only persistence and investments in infrastructure in general. To this end, he has participated in the development of several projects in the area of gas turbines, culminating in the design, manufacture, testing and development of a Small Power Aeronautical Turbine (TAPP), through which a 5 kN thrust gas turbine was specified, designed and manufactured by the Brazilian company TGM. This turbine is installed in a development test bench in the DCTA, having achieved the nominal speed and expected performance. A turbojet/turboprop version in the 1.2 MW shaft power range is expected to be produced from the turbojet version under development. He has experience in Aerospace Engineering, with emphasis on Flow Machines, working mainly on the following topics: numerical simulation of components and machinery in general, gas turbines (numerical design and simulation), axial and centrifugal compressors (numerical design and simulation), identification of faults in gas turbines, engine-aircraft integration, noise estimation of gas turbines. At ITA and other national and foreign institutions he has supervised undergraduate, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral work, as well as participated in committees for examination of undergraduate, master's, doctoral, as well as public tender admission.
