History major at the Universidade de São Paulo (1989), master's and ph.d in Archaeology and Numismatics at the Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia at the Universidade de São Paulo (1995 and 2001, respectively). Cristina has also finished her post-doctoral research in 2006, done at the Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia and at the Centre Camille Julian, Aix-en-Provence, France. Her post-doctoral research focused on Spatial Archaeology, social organization in North Africa in Antiquity. She has excavated in Greek and Portuguese Roman sites as part of the Brown University team in the 90's through 2005, as trench and field supervisor. She is also a researcher attached to LABECA (Laboratory of studies on the ancient city, MAE/USP). She is currently chief-editor of the Revista do Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia (Journal of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology) of the University of São Paulo. She has a Productivity Grant, Level 2, from CNPq. She is leader of the CNPq (National Research Counsil) Research Group Ancient Numismatic. Cristina has experience in Archaeology, focusing on Historical Archaeology, acting on the following subjects: Phoenician-Punic Archaeology, Carthage, Berber society, Ancient Numismatics, Iconography and Spatial and Landscape Archaeology.
