Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences obtained by UNESP University (2002); Master and PhD degree in Basic and Applied Immunology by FMRP-USP, Brazil (2009); Post-doctoral training at FMRP-USP, Brazil, where he studied the mechanisms of Leishmania elimination by autophagy (2013) and Post-doctoral training at UTSW-Dallas, USA, where he studied the role of the ubiquitin-ligase Smurf1 in selective autophagy against bacterial infection (2017). Currently is Associate Professor at UFMG, Brazil. He has experience in Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and in the following subjects: innate immunity and pattern recognition receptors; role of autophagy in pathogen elimination; innate immune signaling.
