Roberta Averna Valente (named used in publications since 2014) is, since 2009, a professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Sorocaba campus. She is a forest engineer, graduated from ESALQ / USP (1998), where she completed her master's degree (2001), doctorate (2005 - Forest Resources), and postdoctoral degree (2010 - Biossistemas Department). Accredited in the Graduate Program in Planning and Use of Renewable Resources (PPGPur, UFSCar / Sorocaba) she develops projects applying geoprocessing to environmental planning, in particular, with Multicriteria Analysis (AMC), landscape ecology, and Ecosystem Services (ES). She is the leader of the Geotechnology Research and Forestry Planning group (GEOPLAN, UFSCar), with the main project (FAPESP 2018 / 21612-8), which aims to prioritize areas for forest conservation in water SE Programs.
