Renata Soares Junqueira is Bachelor (1987), Master (1992) and Doctor (2000) of Letters, in the area of Literary Theory, by State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Associate Professor (2010) and Full Professor (2018) by São Paulo State University (UNESP), where since 1994 she teaches Portuguese Literature at the College of Letters and Sciences in Araraquara's campus. She conducted postdoctoral studies at the University of Lisbon (2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2006-2007, 2007-2008), at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2010 and 2011) and at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto - ESAP ( 2013-2014). In the last thirteen years she has developed interdisciplinary research involving theater, cinema and literature. She published the books GLAUBER ROCHA AND MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA: epic cinema in Portuguese (São Paulo: Todas as Musas, 2019), THE EPIC CINEMA OF MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA (São Paulo: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2018), AXEL'S TRANSFIGURATIONS: readings of modern theater in Portugal (São Paulo: UNESP, 2013), FLORBELA ESPANCA: an aesthetics of theatricality (São Paulo: UNESP, 2003). She organized the book MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA: A PRESENCE (São Paulo: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2010) and co-organized THE THEATER IN THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY: PRESENCE OF ANTÔNIO JOSÉ DA SILVA, O JUDEU (São Paulo: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2008 ); TRUTH, LOVE, REASON, DESERVING: things of the world and of those that in it live (Curitiba: Federal University of Paraná, 2005); PORTUGUESE INTELLECTUALS AND BRAZILIAN CULTURE: testimonials and studies (São Paulo: UNESP, 2002) and IN THE SHIPS OF INITIATION: Portuguese studies of Literatura and History (São Paulo: UNESP, 1998). She most recently co-organized the book THEATER, CINEMA AND LITERATURE: CONFLUENCES (2014), published as an e-book by UNESP Publishing House with the seal Cultura Acadêmica. Coordinated, from 04/24/2011 to 04/23/2013, the Undergraduate Course in Letters of UNESP, in Araraquara. She is the leader of the Research Group on Drama and Film.
