Holds a bachelors degree in Ecology from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) (1979), a masters degree in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (USP) (1986), a PhD in Nuclear Technology from the University of São Paulo (USP) (1990), and a postdoctoral fellowship in radioisotope applications in agriculture at the Institute of Radioagronomy, Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH, Germany (1992). Earned the livre-docência (2003) in the environmental behavior of pesticides from the University of São Paulo (USP). Currently, serves as a (Senior) Associate Researcher/Professor at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (CENA/USP), where he coordinates the Ecotoxicology Laboratory. Holds a CNPq Research Productivity Fellowship (Level 2). Conducts research in Applied Ecology and Environmental Chemistry, focusing primarily on the following topics: application of chromatographic techniques in the analysis of organic contaminants (HPLC-DAD, LC-MS/MS, GC-ECD, GC-FID, and GC-MS); pesticide residues in environmental and food matrices (soils, water, fish, and food); environmental behavior of pesticides in soils (sorption, degradation, mobility, and leaching); synthesis and formulation of carbon-14 radiolabeled pesticides; transport and fate of pesticides in plants; monitoring of organic compounds in agroecosystems; radioisotopes and radiometric techniques applied to agriculture and the environment; microplastics in the environment and their interactions with organic contaminants; and ecotoxicology.
