holds a Bachelor's degree (2001), Master's degree (2003), PhD (2007) and Postdoctoral (2009) in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo; participated in the CAPES doctoral program abroad for a six-month period (2005-2006) at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at the University of São Paulo, campus São Carlos. His academic and professional activities focus on Analytical Science, Image Processing, and Databases, working primarily on visual data analysis (graphical computing applied to databases), machine learning, content-based data retrieval, and analytical science with application of these techniques in the fields of medicine, agriculture, and e-learning∴ (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
