Was formerly an associate professor at the Institute of Marine Sciences (Labomar) from the Federal University of Ceara. Currently is an associate professor at the Oceanographic Institute, University of São Paulo, and head of the Department of Biological Oceanography. Regional Coordinator of Coral Vivo Project Is a NAUI SCUBA diving Instructor.
