He graduated in Physics from the University of São Paulo (2001), has master's degree in Computational Physics (2004) and PhD in Computational Physics (2008) both from the University of São Paulo. He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). He has experience in computational physics, with emphasis on modeling and simulation, acting on the following topics: mathematical-computational modeling of agricultural and environmental systems, complex networks, pattern recognition, atomic and molecular spectroscopy and carbon cycle modeling in soils. He also works in the development of calibration models for quantification of nutrients, carbon and contaminants in soils using photonic techniques; the characterization of the structure of soil organic matter; and classification models for diagnosis of biotic and abiotic stresses plants also using photonic techniques (spectroscopy and imaging).
