Ph.D in Cellular and Tissue Biology (2007) on the Institute of Biomedical Science I, University of São Paulo. He has currently associated researcher with the group of Metabolism and Cancer of ICB I / USP. He is a professor of Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering (master's and Ph.D. programs) and Science and Technology in Health (professional master's degree programs) in UMC. He was Dean of Research, Graduation, and Extension (2013-2017) at the UMC and Scientific Director of the Fundação de Ensino e Pesquisa (FAEP, 2013-2017). The research subject is morphological and functional alterations of adipose tissue in different situations, such as exercise and physical training, as well as in diseases such as cancer cachexia. In this context, we studied the possible immunometabolic effects on immune cells and adipose tissue and thus operate on the following subjects: adipose tissue, cytokines, cachexia associated with cancer, immune system and exercise.
