Birthplace: Brazil

Undergraduate (1982), Master's degree (1984), and Ph.D. (1987) in Physics from the University of São Paulo. Was a visiting professor at the Università degli Studi di Milano (1991-1992) and at the University of British Columbia (2008-2009). Currently holds the position of Full Professor at UFSCar, working in the Department of Mathematics. Has been involved in Mathematical Physics, with publications in both Mathematics and Physics journals, and has supervised Master's and Ph.D. students. Research interests include Schrödinger and Dirac operators, the Aharonov-Bohm effect, mathematical models of graphene, quantum (in)stability, and dynamical localization. Enjoys writing textbooks and has three individual publications: in 2000, published an introductory book on mechanics (software on CD-ROM, in Portuguese, featuring animations, links, etc.) by EdUFSCar (Sao Carlos). In 2001, published a book on functional analysis in Portuguese, intended for Master and Ph.D. students, by IMPA (Rio de Janeiro), which, from 2010, has been part of the Coleção Projeto Euclides. A book in English on spectral theory and quantum dynamics was published by Birkhäuser (Switzerland) in 2009. Finally, in 2023, a book entitled "Spectral Measures and Dynamics: Typical Behaviors," co-authored with M. Aloisio and S. Carvalho, was published by Springer-Verlag. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
