Professor on Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at the University São Judas Tadeu in São Paulo (since 2008) and on Undergraduate Course (since 2003). Architect and Urban Planner from the School of Engineering of São Carlos (1991). Master of Technology of the Building Environment (1999). PhD in Urban Environmental Structures from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism University of São Paulo (2005).. Fulbright Visiting Professor Chair in Global Cities (CUNY) at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer Scholl of Architecture (Fall-2016). Currently she is doing her post-doctoral research at Brazilian Studies Institute in São Paulo University, deepening her understanding of the relation between developmentalist policies and urban planning. Concurrently she is co-leading with Rosa Aboy the research project Formación e investigación comparada entre Argentina y Brasil. La vivienda social en las políticas públicas de Vargas y de Perón on housing policies comparing Brazil and Argentina. The first year (2015) was founded by Ministerio da Educación (Argentina). In 2016 she was appointed as member of the Special Adviser Group of the International Relations Board of CAPES and has been revisor of the State and Federal agencies of research FAPESP and CAPES. She was a consultant to the Urban Institute for the preparation of the document prepared for the UN conference on housing and sustainable urban development (Habitat III). From 2013 to 2016 coordinated with Fernando Lara the research Planning and participation: a new schedule for urban and environmental policies in Brazil with FAPESP and University of Texas support. From 2005 to 2014 led with Nabil Bonduki The Pioneers of Social Housing project. It was developed at the University of São Paulo and gathered material related to housing estates built between 1939 and 1966 in Brazil. The project covered a huge geographical extension and had the collaboration of many researchers nationwide. It was chosen to be published by the Ministry of Culture in a public tender and resulted in a collection launched in 2014 with 3 volumes. It rescues a little-known face of the history of housing and urbanism in the country, and seeks to contribute to the improvement of the current Brazilian social policy. Started her carrier researching at IUAV -Istitutto di Architettura di Venezia in 1994. Afterwards participated in several research groups in different units of the University of São Paulo: (1996-1999) Constitution of Modern Architecture in São Paulo from 1930 to1970 coordinated by Carlos Alberto Ferreira Martins (Institute of Architecture and Urbanism - IAU) , (1999-2000) Social Housing and Modern Architecture in Brazil from 1930 to 1964 coordinated by Ruth Maria Sampaio (Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo, FAU). (2001-2005) Urban Sprawl and Changes in the Urban Tissue. Study Case: The State of São Paulo, coordinated by Nestor Goulart Reis Filho (Laboratory of Heritage, Architecture and Urbanization, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo LAP). She collaborated in the Paulo Mendes da Rocha?s Studio in 1995 before he won the Pritzker Prize in 2006 Her first academic study in Brazil was on the debate between left wing architects in the sixties and the developmental theories in Brazil. The book was Published in 2003, as a result of the dissertation and it was instrumental to several pieces of research on the same subject that followed . Two years later she widened this approach supervised by one of the most important historians of urbanization in Brazil, Nestor Goulart Reis Filho. In his research group further to the developmental debate, she acquired knowledge on the huge Urban Sprawl phenomenon in São Paulo and Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
