Full Professor in Soil Microbiology at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo. Agricultural engineer and PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding from the same institution. Full Professor in Soil Biology at ESALQ/USP. Represents the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) in Brazil, and is an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He works in the area of #8203;#8203;Soil and Environmental Microbiology, focusing on analyzing microbial communities. Studies microbial communities in natural areas, and especially in agricultural areas.
