Degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from University of São Paulo (USP), Master and PhD in Pharmacology from USP, and Post doctorate from the Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Associate-Professor at USP (2003) and Member of the São Paulo State Academy of Sciences (2012) and Head of Department of Pharmacology (2013-2017). He is currently Professor of Department of Pharmacology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at USP (2009-). Contributed in the field of Pharmacology and Neuroscience with emphasis on aging and signalling cascade linked to degenerative diseases by introducing new knowledge in studies of adaptive responses associated with hormesis and cognition involving cardiotonic steroids, glucocorticoids, Klotho protein, and glutamate. Member of Editorial Board of Plos One, Scientific Reports, British Journal Pharmacology, Frontiers in Endocrinology, and Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
