I Graduated in Medicine at the Botucatu Medical School - UNESP (2001). I completed my medical residency training in Anesthesiology (2004) and Pain (2005) at the same institution, as well as a PhD in Anesthesiology (2008) and professorship in Antalgic Therapy and Palliative Care (2022). I hold the title of specialist in Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine by the Brazilian Medical Association. I work as an associate professor in the discipline of Antalgic Therapy and Palliative Care (beginning in 2010) and as a permanent professor of the Graduate Programs in Anesthesiology (beginning in 2014) and Clinical Research (beginning in 2020) at the Botucatu Medical School - UNESP. I was co-responsible for the research on the cross-cultural adaptation of the Physician form Orders for Life- Sustaining Treatment (POLST), providing a foundation for the implementation of the POLST Paradigm in Brazil as a strategy to improve end-of-life care in the country by promoting the alignment between the values and preferences of care of patients with their health treatments through Advance Care Planning. I was the first author of a review article on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome published in the prestigious British Medical Journal and co-author of the book entitled ?Use of the subcutaneous route in pediatrics? published by the National Academy of Palliative Care. I coordinate the Pediatric Palliative Care outpatient clinic at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Botucatu Medical School and am responsible for the palliative care branch of the Fetal Medicine outpatient clinic at the same institution. Additionally, I serve as a member of the Palliative Medicine Commission of the Brazilian Society of Anesthesiology and the Pain and Palliative Care Group of the Anesthesiology Society of the State of São Paulo.
