Chemical Engineering (1972) from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP), Master degree (1992) and PhD (1999) in Energy by the Graduate Program in Energy (PPGE), the University of São Paulo (USP). It is currently a teacher / counselor of the Graduate Program in Energy. (PPGE) USP and the Post Graduate Program in Bioenergy USP / UNICAMP / UNESP and coordinator of the Research Group on Bioenergy (GBIO / former CENBIO) of IEE / USP, acting on the following topics: biomass power generation biomass, decentralized generation, urban and rural solid waste, cogeneration, biogas, life cycle analysis, externalities and sugarcane. Reviwer at several scientific journals, such as Energy Policy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Clean Technology and Environmental Policy, Biomass and Bioenergy and Energy for Sustainable Development, among others. Bioenergy Editor at Reneweable Bioenergy and Sustainable Energy Reviews. Principal Investigator at RCGI/FAPESP/SHELL.
