Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo (1996), master's at Center for Nuclear Energy in Agronomy from Universidade de São Paulo (2000) and Ph.D. in Biology from University of Utah (2005). I have experience in Plant Ecology, focusing on Ecophysiology, acting on the following subjects: carbon, nitrogen, biogeochemistry, amazon, savannas, global changes, plant eco-physiology and tropical ecosystems. My research focuses on the biological control exerted by vegetation over the biogeochemical cycles of carbon, water and nitrogen. I am particularly interested in translating eco-physiological knowledge of vegetation functioning into forms useful to regional scale models of photosynthesis. Consequently, I?m also interested in the influence of tropical forest and savanna ecosystems on global climate and how these ecosystems will cope with ongoing global and local changes.
